Consign With Us
Your pieces. Our work. A shared success.
Have great things you're ready to part with, but don't want to photograph, research, list, answer questions, negotiate offers, pack boxes, and ship them yourself?
That's where we come in.
When you consign with Fable & Flair, you retain ownership of your items while we handle the work of selling them. We select pieces that fit our shop, research and price them, create the listings, market them across our sales channels, work with buyers, and handle fulfillment.
When an item sells, we share the proceeds.
What We Look For
Fable & Flair is intentionally eclectic. We accept clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories across designer, contemporary, and vintage categories.
We're less interested in whether something checks a particular brand box than whether we believe someone else will want to find it.
We consider things like:
- Condition and quality
- Current resale demand
- Construction and materials
- Designer or maker
- Vintage character
- Style and uniqueness
- Expected resale value
As a general guideline, we look for pieces we believe can sell for approximately $40 or more, although we may make exceptions for groups of items or particularly interesting finds.
Not everything will be a fit, and that's okay.
What You Earn
The more your item sells for, the greater your share.
| Actual Selling Price | Your Share |
|---|---|
| Under $50 | 40% |
| $50–$99.99 | 50% |
| $100–$249.99 | 60% |
| $250–$499.99 | 70% |
| $500+ | 75% |
Your share is calculated from the actual merchandise selling price after discounts or accepted offers, rather than the original asking price. Shipping, sales tax, and similar transaction amounts paid by the buyer aren't part of the merchandise selling price.
There are no listing, photography, or upfront consignment fees.
If an item needs an unusual expense such as professional authentication, specialist cleaning, or significant repair, we'll discuss it with you before incurring that expense.
Pricing & Selling
Once we accept an item, Fable & Flair handles pricing and the sales process.
We research comparable merchandise and the current resale market to establish an asking price. We may list merchandise on fableflair.com as well as other marketplaces or sales channels we use.
Because offers and promotions are a normal part of resale, we may accept offers or discount an item by up to 20% of its current asking price without additional approval.
We aren't trying to give your things away. Our interests are aligned: when your item sells well, we both do well.
How Long We Consign
Our standard consignment term is 120 days.
That gives a good piece time to find the right buyer without leaving your belongings in resale limbo indefinitely.
If an item hasn't sold near the end of its term, we'll determine what comes next. Depending on the piece, we may agree to extend the consignment, return it to you, or—with your permission—donate, recycle, liquidate, or otherwise responsibly move it along.
Getting Paid
Consignor payouts are made monthly after the applicable buyer return period has passed.
We use a $25 minimum payout, so balances under $25 simply roll forward to the next payment period. When your consignment relationship with us ends, we'll pay any remaining balance regardless of the threshold.
We'll provide the details of available payment methods during intake.
If You Want Something Back
Your items remain yours while they're on consignment, but once we've invested the work in preparing and marketing an item, we ask that you allow it to complete its agreed consignment term.
If circumstances change, contact us. We'll work with you when reasonably possible.
At the end of a consignment, items designated for return must be retrieved within 14 days after we notify you that they're ready unless we've made other arrangements.
How It Works
1. Tell us what you have.
Send us some basic information and, when possible, photos.
2. We take a look.
We'll let you know what we'd like to consider and arrange intake when appropriate.
3. We do the work.
Accepted pieces are inspected, researched, photographed, priced, listed, marketed, sold, packed, and shipped by us.
4. You get paid.
When an item sells and its return period has passed, your share is added to your consignor balance.
Transparency matters.
Consignment works best when everyone knows what to expect.
Before we accept your merchandise, you'll receive our complete Consignment Agreement covering the consignment term, pricing authority, commissions, payouts, returns, unsold merchandise, and the other details of our relationship.
No mystery math. No surprise fees.
