Condition Guide

Pre-loved doesn't mean unpredictable.

Every item at Fable & Flair is individually inspected before we list it. Because most of our pieces have had a life before they reach us, signs of age or wear can be part of the story. Our goal is to make sure you know what to expect before your package arrives.

We photograph and describe notable flaws we find, and we encourage you to review all photos and listing details before purchasing.

New With Tags

Unworn with the original retail tags still attached. Packaging may be missing, and tags may show minor wear from storage.

New Without Tags

Appears unworn and shows no meaningful signs of use, but the original retail tags are not attached.

Excellent

Previously owned with little to no visible wear. The item may have been worn or used, but remains in exceptionally clean, well-preserved condition.

Very Good

Gently used with minor signs of normal wear. There may be small imperfections consistent with previous use, but nothing that significantly affects the item's appearance or function.

Good

Shows noticeable signs of previous wear or age but remains completely wearable or usable. Examples might include light fading, minor pilling, small marks, surface wear, or other imperfections. Significant issues will be shown or described in the listing.

Fair

Shows obvious wear, age, flaws, or repairs, but we believe the piece still has life left in it. These items may be particularly interesting because of their design, rarity, vintage character, or potential for restoration. Known flaws will be disclosed as clearly as possible.

Vintage & Pre-Owned Items

Vintage pieces deserve a little extra context. Age-related characteristics such as gentle fading, minor fabric variation, patina, or evidence of careful previous repairs may be expected in older items and aren't necessarily defects.

We evaluate vintage pieces based on their condition relative to their age, while still disclosing issues that we believe a buyer would want to know about.

A note about our inspections

We're human, and pre-owned items can occasionally surprise even a careful set of eyes. We make every reasonable effort to inspect, photograph, measure, research, and accurately describe what we sell.
